Need to Know?

A Word to the Wise

While vacuuming this morning, this thought came to my attention. Is what I know, necessarily what others need to know? I’m aware that most are not interested in what I know and they haven’t any desire and or obligation to subscribe to “A Word to the Wise.”

How is it that I came to the conclusion I should write these post? And where do I get off thinking my interpretation of God’s Wisdom revealed in Scripture is something others need to know? I honestly don’t know the answer to these questions.

There have recently been a couple of times I was ready to pull the plug, and privately study God’s Word for my own journey through the work of sanctification. Then someone writes a reply that encourages me to continue even if my audience remain small by today’s Substack standards.

I am a soon to be 68 year old man. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease November 1, 2018. A year later Lewy Body Dementia was added to the mix as a possibility. (Currently it requires an autopsy for 100% confirmation for this, and I have declined to seek this proof.) The possibility of Lewy Body Dementia motivated me to have the elders pray, asking God for a sound mind to the end. Since then there has been little measurable decline in my cognitive ability.

SO, are you willinging to subscribe to the “wisdom” of a possibility senile, old, former pastor?
