God's Word to the Wise

Many of those who speak at school board meetings against certain activities and practices being harmful to their children, return their children to the school that is teaching and practicing what the parent argues is harmful. Discovering a child is in harms way and repeatedly returning them in harms way is; well, STUPID!

Imagine sending our new Army recruits to Iran for boot camp and infantry training. Having the enemy train our military personnel would be treasonous. This is what Christian Parents are doing when their children are attending schools where they are exposed to anti-Biblical indoctrination.  

What God told Israel recorded in ( My Revised Version of Deuteronomy 6:1-7) is what He calls His people to practice today. “Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the Lord your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, ² that you may fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your children and your grandchildren, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. ³ Therefore hear, O Israel/Church, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly.

⁴ “Hear, O Israel/Church: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! ⁵ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. ⁶ “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. ⁷ You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”

A Christian School founder and advocate would tell Christian parents, “What is taught in the home needs to be taught in school and in the church.” Many Christian parents will argue that they cannot afford a Christian education or do not have the time to homeschool. Yes, protecting your children does require your time and finances, but it does not require sacrifice, it requires a change in priorities.

Victoria and I lived and taught in a Christian boarding school. More than once our cash salary was postponed because of a lack of funds. One year the school was 6 months in the rears. I learned that most of the families were not paying the tuition, and room and board for their child. I was told the parents could not afford to pay, but their child needed to be in the school. I travel to visit every home of those not paying due to a lack of affordability. All of those I visited were living in a comfortable house. They had boats, snow mobiles, new(er) vehicles etc. and most every convenience available. Their problem wasn’t affordability, it was priorities.

Who or what is your priority? Despite what is being espoused today, the large majority of people have the time and finances necessary to pursue their passion(s) and priorities.
